Our experience is not just limited to residential properties. We provide the same high levels of service whether it’s a household, small business or a large commercial property. Through the design process, we will come to understand the needs of your business to allow us to create the perfect space for you and your customers. So when a National Trust owned estate in Stourton, Warminster required a conservatory to house part of their shop, we were more than happy to help.
Brief:
Not only did this project need careful design and planning that met listed building regulations and permissions, the roof structure also needed to be robust and practical as it was adjoined on both sides by the rest of the shop.
Our vast experience with listed buildings meant that we were able to handle all tasks related to planning and regulations. Once permission was granted and all designs were agreed with the client, we then commenced with the build of this unique project.
National Trust funded properties tend to be very popular, particularly in the summer months. So, with the high amount of footfall through the shop, making sure that there was easy access to the area was of great importance. To cope with this, we incorporated a new set of automatic sliding doors.
Our team carefully selected the type of glazing for this kind of build, which needed to be safe and adaptable to cope with changing environments. Toughened safety glass was a must, and we also wanted to consider how to best keep a pleasant environment within the space, and so we chose solar glazing. Solar glazing limits the amount of heat entering the room, great for those summer months with a shop full of people. Finally, the glass also had self-cleaning properties.
The client was thrilled with the finished product as we were able to produce a beautiful public area that met all planning and building regulations, as well as being a practical space to use on a day-to-day basis.
