Verandas
A veranda can be considered superior to a conservatory or orangery depending on your personal home needs. If you want somewhere to enjoy your garden all year round but don’t want to commit to the process of designing and building a large extension structure, a veranda is ideal for you.
A veranda is also a fantastic substitute for an orangery or conservatory if your home is not large enough to accommodate these buildings. Auburn Hill has lots of experience in the construction of verandas, and on one occasion we assessed a property with an existing conservatory that had been badly designed and actually offered little benefit to the home due to the property already hosting many large rooms. This meant that the conservatory was an unnecessary addition to this home which did not offer much in the way of creativity or provide adequate space.
Auburn Hill assessed this property as part of the initial design consultation and suggested that an intimate veranda would instead be the better choice for the home as it freed up garden space and added value to the property too. Verandas are resilient structures that are unlikely to weather easily, especially when you purchase an aluminium veranda, which is a popular choice thanks to its strength and reliability.
A veranda can be used all year round for a number of different experiences. In the summer it can act as a place for you and your family to enjoy your garden in comforting shade, and in the winter it’s ideal for enjoying a seasonal setting without your being exposed to adverse weather conditions. It’s really quite a satisfying experience to use your garden all year round without being affected by heavy downpours or a scorching heat.
After the initial design consultation Auburn Hill will have to undertake to assess the capability of your home, Auburn Hill will send their clients some large scale design ideas for consideration. Following approval of these ideas and gaining the necessary planning permission for construction, a date to begin and end the building process can be agreed upon. The construction of a veranda is not a long and arduous process; it is rather a simple build that will be dealt with quickly and with little disruption to the homeowner’s life.
All steps of both the design and build work will only be made with the complete permission and understanding of the customer who is always consulted before any changes are made. All verandas provided by Auburn Hill are bespoke, so the customer can have as much or little input as they see fit. If the client wishes for their veranda to be built as a collaboration with materials provided by another organisation, Auburn Hill are glad to organise such a scenario.
