P4 Limited is committed to fully support environmental legislation through enacting its environmental policy in all of the company’s activities.
i) The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006
These regulations came into force on 2nd January 2007 and enact The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive 2002/96/EC.

Although not obliged to do so, P4 Limited will recycle those products not of its supply, but a service charge will be applied.
ii) The Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (RoHS) SI No. 2748:2005
These regulations came into force on 1st July 2006 and enact The Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2002/95/EC.
All new P4 Limited products introduced into the market after 1st July 2006 fully comply with the requirements of the RoHS regulations through the limitation of hazardous substances as defined by the regulations to levels below those specified as maximums within the regulations.
Components used in products produced prior to then have been assessed for their compliance to the maximum permitted levels of hazardous substances by their suppliers and Declarations of conformity are available as required.
These regulations do not apply to batteries used in P4 Limited products since the regulations do not apply to the use of hazardous substances in electrical or electronic equipment which complies with any other Act or enactment with which such equipment would have been required to comply for it to be lawfully put on the market in the United Kingdom before 1st July 2006.
iii) The Batteries and Accumulators and Waste Batteries and Accumulators Directive (2006/66/EC)
This European Directive, known as the Battery Directive, has been transposed into UK law through two statutory instruments:
a) The Batteries and Accumulators (Placing on the Market) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/2164) came into force on 26th September 2008. These regulations place restrictions on mercury and cadmium and apply labelling requirements for new batteries to aid consumer choice and recycling including the crossed out wheeled bin symbol.
Batteries supplied by P4 Limited fully comply with these regulations.
b) The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/890) came into force on 5th May 2009. These regulations introduce treatment standards and “producer responsibility” including targets for the collection and recovery of waste batteries.
P4 Limited is classed as a “Battery distributor” under the regulations and, therefore, used batteries should be returned directly to the “Battery producer”, whose name and contact details will be provided on request.
