A lot has been written about the problems facing Facebook advertising in 2013.  Here, I give my thoughts on the platform to argue that actually a lot of the issues are down to sloppy advertising campaigns by agencies and brands.

Not targeting adverts properly leads to a poor user experience, and a growing frustration with the adverts & Facebook in general.  If adverts are targeted properly with the wealth of data that is available, they should be highly relevant for users and therefore less irritating.
